A Statement Worth Making
Being a plus sized woman it is often hard to find statement clothing. The statement pieces I generally wear are accessories because they are not size specific. I came across Yona New York on Instagram. Their clothing is classic with a chic fashionable twist. Their mantra is "Effortless Style" with designs that flatter, fit, and enhance the figures and styles of plus size women. I couldn't agree more! I saw their drape maxi skirt and instantly fell in love. This skirt is the epitome of what plus size fashion should be. It is fashion forward, avante garde yet functional. Honestly, I'm obsessed and it is one of my new favorite pieces.
This drape maxi skirt is bold and versatile. I love pieces that can be worn from season to season. I can already see me wearing this in the summer time with some sandals, or in the winter with black stockings and booties.
I've styled this outfit for a night out. I wanted the skirt to be the boldest element of this look. I've paired this statement skirt with a cream colored crop top. The little peekaboo of skin is sexy without being to exposed. The great part about this skirt is the elastic waistband. We all are different shapes and sizes so it is great to wear clothing that is accommodating. I have an hourglass figure and I wanted to accentuate that by wearing it a little higher. I kept my accessories to my everyday bracelets (because they never leave my arm lol) and a bold but muted color earring to add some flare. I chose to wear a simple nude pump to keep all eyes focused on this amazing skirt.
