Hi.

Hello and thanks for stopping by!  I'm Jen and I am a plus size fashion blogger living in NYC.  Fashion + Curves is a blog for us curvy fashionistas who are looking for the latest trends the industry has to offer.  Our demographic has long been forgotten, but if you are reading this blog you believe that style is for everyone.  I hope you enjoy, and just remember fashion is fun! Take risks and love yourself because being fabulous ain't easy!

Napoleon Complex?!

Napoleon Complex?!

As you guys know I'm super short. Shopping while plus size is hard enough, but to also layer in petite makes finding clothes that much harder. A lot of the clothes tend to fit very long on my 5'1" frame.  Maxi dresses have trains, sleeveless arm holes show my bra, and knee length can become midi length.  It gets super frustrating to buy all your clothing to then have it altered.

I'm always looking for new places to shop. I stumbled upon Catherine's one day. I have definitely heard of Catherine's before, but it wasn't a place I ever saw myself shopping.  I always thought their clientele was an older demographic, much older than my 30 something self. I decided to check it out because as a plus size woman I know I have to exhaust all options.

I was all out impressed with what I found. What I thought Catherine's was, is not what they have morphed into.  They are leaning toward the trendier side of plus size fashion. Not only did they have cute clothes, they had women's petite!  As soon as I noticed, my next click online was to their dress section. The struggle is real for us short plus size women.

I am simply in love with this high low dress. The shape is comfortable, and the lace detailing gives it that hint of sexy. The dress hits right above the knee before the sheer lace detailing. If this was a regular length dress it would be two inches too long making it look matronly. Seriously obsessed!

One of my favorite summer looks is to wear black with wooden jewelry. I don't know why, but it gives me that Gucci vibe. I paired this dress with wooden bangles and earrings. I felt this needed a long line necklace so I opted for this tribal inspired piece.  I kept my shoes to black leather and cork wedges. This look is perfect for work, a night out or even a BBQ. Totally comfortable and appropriate for those hot summer events!

I hope you guys enjoyed. Make sure to subscribe!

XoXo,

Jen
